Join in community with like-minded creatives for a heart-opening week of creative rejuvenation, connecting to nature, nourishing your soul, and moving your body.

This 6-night writing and Yoga retreat held in an extraordinary beach town in Costa Rica is a chance to connect with other writers and creatively re-set. Start the day grounding yourself with Yoga and meditation from a 500h Costa Rican Yoga teacher. In the afternoons, engage in trauma-informed writing workshops by a WGA Award-nominated writer and university lecturer, or opt for free writing time in the beautiful beachside town of Nosara. We will focus on deep healing through moving out of our heads and into our bodies, and through cultivating a space to push past fear and connect to our creative core. We’ll adventure throughout Costa Rica, eat delicious meals, and watch stunning sunsets, all while growing as humans, creatives, and Yogis. Open to all levels of writers, aspiring or professional.

We did this retreat in 2022, and trust me: It is an incredible and transformative trip. There’s a reason we’re going back for more!

Your retreat leaders, Ali and Julian, on the 2022 retreat!

Nosara, Costa Rica is a magical place that’s considered the Yoga capital of Central and South America. You’ll take the best Yoga classes of your life here! It’s also a “blue zone” — a town where people are proven to live longer than anywhere in the world. Many locals will tell you this is due to their laid-back lifestyle that emphasizes pura vida — a pure life — in addition to healthy, fresh, organic food.

Unwind, connect to your core creativity, and find your own pura vida in this special place.

We will be staying at a gorgeous boutique hotel in the center of town, within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, and shops. The hotel has a fantastic restaurant where we’ll eat our breakfast, lunch, and some dinners — other nights, we’ll try the amazing food in town.

The Write & Flow Retreat was both sublime and door-opening. Ali flawlessly created an ambiance that nourished both our souls and our voices as writers. What’s even more wonderful than the live experience is how I have been able to carry the tools forward into my everyday life. On a certain level, the retreat made me feel like I had come home to myself.

An example of the incredible, healthy food we’ll eat all week

Our zip-lining adventure on the longest zip-line in the world!

This retreat was one of the most amazing adventures of my life! It was well-designed and organized, and I felt extremely safe in Ali’s hands from the moment I signed up on a whim to stepping onto the plane home. The yoga and sound bath meditation interweaved with selected excursions and tailored writing workshops allowed me to navigate the apprehension I was feeling about the next steps of my career and the limitations I was setting on myself, not just in my writing but also in my personal journey. I made lifelong connections with a lovely group of people through sharing our work and collective experience, and by default, we created the space to share ourselves. We laughed, we cried, and we became fearless in the process. Feels like a dream I’d want to have again and again! Thank you, Ali, for opening your heart to make ours feel fuller.
