This is a day-long online writing & Yoga retreat that uses modalities of breathwork, meditation, and journaling to connect you to your creativity so you can start 2023 ready to write.

This is day-long online retreat focusing on brainstorming and developing ideas for fiction writing in all forms. It’s open to TV, film, novel, or short story writers — aspiring or professional. No Yoga experience necessary.

We’ll start the day with Yoga, meditation and guided journaling to center ourselves and clear our minds, before moving onto two writing workshops. You’ll leave feeling inspired, grounded, and excited to write.

Give yourself a day to intentionally center yourself, connect to your core self, and think deeply about how you want to spend 2023. Let's drop into our bodies and consciously set ourselves up for success next year.

The workshop is hosted by Ali Vingiano, a TV writer (The Morning Show), and 200h certified Yoga teacher from One Down Dog in Los Angeles. There will be opportunities to share your work with Ali, both in the session, and afterwards via email for the remainder of January. Space is limited to ensure personalized feedback.

The entire day is only $159, and the full schedule is listed below.

  • 9:30-10:30: We’ll wake up with light meditation, breathwork & Yoga with themes catered toward writers

    10:30-11pm: Guided journaling to start getting to the core of our creative blocks

    11-11:30: Break

    11:30-1:15pm: Overcoming writer’s block and brainstorming workshop. We'll brainstorm new ideas in this interactive workshop, and you will leave with loglines for potential new stories. You will have the opportunity to run them by Ali for feedback in the workshop, or afterwards via email.

    1:15-1:45pm: Break

    1:45-3pm: A brief writing lecture on character and story. Afterward, we'll look at one of your loglines, and start building out your idea together.

    3-3:30pm: We’ll end with a visualization + brief writing exercise.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

  • If you have an idea but aren't sure exactly where to start on the page, this is for you. We’ll dig into your characters and story and you will leave with direction on how to begin.

  • If you want to spend a day relaxing your nervous system, centering yourself, and digging into your creativity as the New Year begins, this is the workshop for you.

  • If you’re feeling creatively blocked, or are circling a bunch of ideas but haven’t committed to one yet… then this is the workshop for you.
